Gas to Electric. The Cumberland County Landfill in Shippensburg will no longer flare off the methane gas produced there. Instead, through a renewable energy project PPL, IWS and Adams Electric unveiled June 25, 2009, the methane will be used to generate enough electricity to power 4,800 homes. Read more>

Get credit for energy saving projects. Through the 2009 federal stimulus bill tax credit is available for energy efficiency upgrades made at existing homes in 2009 and 2010. You can recover 30 percent of the cost of adding insulation materials and exterior doors, windows, and roofs designed to help reduce your home’s heat loss or gain. The credit also covers efficient central air conditioners, air-source heat pumps, hot water boilers, and biomass stoves. Learn more>

Co-op Red Flag Policy in effect
Members who contact the co-op will be asked for specific information about their identities as the co-op begins complying with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003. Read more > |
