Scholarship Opportunities Through Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association (PREA)

Through the Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association Scholarship Trust Fund in Memory of William F. Matson, at least seven $1,000 scholarships are available each year.

At least five $1,000 scholarships are available to sons and daughters of members and employees of electric cooperatives in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Applicants must currently be high school seniors and be able to furnish necessary aptitude test scores and financial need information.

At least two $1,000 scholarships in memory of Jody Loudenslager are available to any college-bound or current college student who participated in the National Rural Electric Youth Tour, coordinated by Pennsylvania Rural Electric Association (PREA). Applicants need to furnish necessary aptitude test scores and financial need information.

For applications, send the coupons (at the links above) to PREA at the address on the coupon. Applications must be received by PREA by May 11, 2009, to be considered. A committee at PREA decides the scholarship winners. The winning names are announced in July during PREA's summer meeting.
