Adams Electric Cooperative 2011 Annual Meeting

Register Now!

Adams Electric will host its annual meeting on Saturday, June 11, at the Allstar Events Complex, 2638 Emmitsburg Road, Gettysburg. The facility is air-conditioned and handicap-accessible.

Registration and exhibits will be open from 8:30-10 a.m., followed by a business meeting with Travis Gilbertdirector elections from 10-11:30 a.m. Bring your used, intact CFLs along to recycle, and we’ll replace them with a new one. Also in the exhibit arena, besides the co-op’s energy exhibits, a variety of health and wellness organizations from the community will be setting up displays with information you can use. Some of the organizations already on board to exhibit this year are the Adams County Office for Aging, WellSpan Health, the American Red Cross and Capital Blue Cross. Also, while supplies last, get a free tree seedling from Tree Line USA and show your Co-op Connections card for a free gift.

During the business meeting, Big Springs High School senior Travis Gilbert, Newville, national spokesperson for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association Youth Leadership Council, will speak about his experience with the cooperative Youth Tour program and the honor of being a national spokesperson.

In addition to the business meeting, a children’s program with games and entertainment will be held indoors for those age 5-12. Children must be pre-registered. Children under age 5 must stay with their parents/guardians. Officer John Carbaugh of the Penn Township Police Department will be in the children’s area offering the Child ID program, sponsored by Adams Electric. The Willys

Following the business meeting, a barbecued chicken lunch, prepared by the Adams County 4-H, will be available to those in attendance. In addition, the classic rock group, The Willys, will perform a one-hour stage set.

The Allstar facility offers nearby handicap parking, plus regular parking spaces accessible by shuttle. Door prize drawings will be held after the business meeting. Members must be present to win.

In May, all co-op members will receive an invitation to the meeting and an election ballot via first class mail. Meal reservations are required by May 27.

Ballot votes may be cast by mail or online by June 7, or in person at the annual meeting on June 11. Those casting votes at the meeting should drop their ballot in the ballot box stationed inside the arena.
