Myers, a salesman for the Pioneer Hi-Bred Company and manager of Myers Hollow Farm, L.L.C., was elected from the cooperative’s Zone 5, which comprises southwestern York County. He fills a seat vacated by the former Bradley E. Herr of Hanover. Myers is a member of the York County Business Council and is a life member of the Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Company.

Myers outpolled former co-op director Joseph M. Stafford of Dallastown and Arthur L. Rathell, III of Glenville for the seat.

Also during the election, incumbent directors F. L. “Ray” Schwartz of Fairfield, Adams County, and S. Eugene Herritt of Shippensburg, Cumberland County, were re-elected to three-year terms on the co-op’s board of directors.

Herritt has been a director since 1985 and serves on the board’s executive committee. He has been a co-op member since 1976. He is employed as a sales executive for Fortney Packages/Beidel Printing House and is an adjunct professor at Shippensburg University.

Schwartz has been a member of Adams Electric since 1994 and a director since 2006. He is a retired professional nuclear engineer, who worked for the United States Department of Energy.

During a reorganizational meeting following the annual meeting, director Jay Grove of Shippensburg was re-elected as president of the board, Glenn Bange of Hanover was elected vice president, Thomas Knaub of Wellsville was re-elected as treasurer and Herritt was elected secretary.
